We are very fortunate to have some wonderfully talented youth living here on the Eastside of Rotorua and next year we want to offer them the opportunity to participate in a free training program focusing specifically on Event Management.
The participants will be exposed to all sorts of personal development components, for example: identifying their strengths; forming healthy and respectful relationships; how to lead and work as part of a team; and, pushing through even when it hurts, to name a few…
From there we will focus on the core process of Event Management i.e. identifying the goal, resources and budget required, planning meetings, publicity, location, program activities and so on.
The ultimate goal is to plan and deliver a community event located on the Eastside. The duration of the program is estimated at 10-12 weeks, start date yet to be confirmed.
Because of the level of understanding required to complete the program, participants need to be 14 years and over.
This is a great opportunity for youth to increase their skills, knowledge, experience and form new friendships. If interested please register early.
This is a joint project supported by Mokoia Community Association, ER@P and NZ Red Cross Rotorua.
