This month we looked to our members for business-building and support ideas. David Jones, of David Jones Creative, enlightened us with an excellent presentation on leveraging your business with effective business card design as a marketing tool – simple ideas and pointers that were immediately clear to all of us once he’d pointed them out. Given business cards are probably the marketing tool we hand out the most, we were all a bit taken back by the mistakes we’d made, and how important it is to get them right! We were also fortunate to hear about Lisa Berndt’s journey from scientist to setting up and running her own small business as a Life Coach. Lisa gave us a fascinating insight into how she helps people and groups to manage their lives and reach their full potential using coaching to help with burnout recovery, stress management, change management, finding purpose, letting go of limits and gaining a clearer direction on life to ultimately move into your full potential. Lisa also offers a free initial consultation and has a new blog so check out www.lifelab.co.nz.
The Business Networking Group meets twice monthly on a Monday morning. There is no cost to join other than your valuable time, and a small charge for a light breakfast, tea and coffee. We’re pretty informal, and the objective is to support and help each other in our lives as small business owners, and create new networks and connections amongst the Eastside community. If you’d like to come along or offer your time to be a business-building guest speaker, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
