Eastside Business Networking Group update

The year is whizzing by and we are fortunate to have a great core group of members, a great meeting venue at the MCA Community Hall, and that we continue to attract great business-building guest speakers to share, inspire and motivate us. We were delighted to welcome Rachel Warrender of Rotorua’s Dubzz Digital Marketing. Rachel presented insightful tips and tricks on social media marketing for business, using blogs to get your business out there on social media, bang for buck with Google AdWords or Facebook advertising, and do’s & don’ts for a successful online marketing campaign. Dubzz publish lots of useful topical articles on their website. You can browse their general internet ‘how-to blogs’ as well as find out about other website, training and business services they can help with @ www.dubzz.co.nz.

We were also fortunate to hear from Julia Charity, of Look After Me, New Zealand’s premium homestay accommodation network – founded and operated right here on Rotorua’s Eastside. Julia shared her knowledge and experience on the topic of leveraging public relations for business, and its value as a key tool in promoting business and getting noticed out there in the jungle. If you’d like to find out more about Julia’s journey and her business, www.lookafterme.co.nz is the place to be.

James Smith, Rotorua-based District Manager for AON Insurance, broke the mould with his professional and friendly approach to discussing a topic everyone loves to hate: insurance & business risk. James raised some very interesting emerging issues on the insurance risk landscape, and the low-down on insuring and protecting our most valuable assets – our business and ourselves! James covered a variety of business insurance solutions such as cover for property, business assets, statutory/directors/officers liability, professional risk, income protection, premium funding and the importance of annual cover reviews. If these or any other insurance topics raise any questions for you professionally or personally, check out www.aon.co.nz or email james.smith@aon.com.

Our friendly business networking group meets twice monthly on a Monday morning to support and connect professional and business people amongst our Eastside community. If you’d like to join us, or offer your time and skills as a guest speaker, please email eastsidebng@gmail.com.
