In the midst of this lovely summer we are having, Eastern Suburbs Pre-School decided to have a Waterworld Day! Children brought their togs and towels on Wednesday February 11 and everyone was more than ready for some serious water fun. Marie set up a sprinkler in the playground, there was a bike wash station, a boat race and even a slip ‘n slide! Children do a substantial amount of learning through play with water: they develop language skills through the use of new terms connected to water, they learn social skills as they negotiate the sharing of equipment and taking turns, and they develop their imagination as well as mathematical thinking.
After all the splish, splash, sliding and making bubbles, everyone was pretty hungry so all the children and staff had a yummy ice block in the afternoon. We just love summer!!!
